&lt;p&gt;When every screen includes a large cluster of controls, the reader is reminded that the interface matters as much as the text. I wanted the opposite feeling: arrive, read, leave with as little friction as possible.&lt;&#x2F;p&gt;
&lt;blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Navigation should help the reader leave the chrome behind.&lt;&#x2F;p&gt;
&lt;&#x2F;blockquote&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That is why this demo keeps navigation spare. Links remain available where they are useful, but they do not lead the page.&lt;&#x2F;p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In practice, that means:&lt;&#x2F;p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;choosing a comfortable line length&lt;&#x2F;li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;letting whitespace do structural work&lt;&#x2F;li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;using contrast sparingly&lt;&#x2F;li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;resisting components that call attention to themselves&lt;&#x2F;li&gt;
&lt;&#x2F;ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A theme like &lt;strong&gt;still&lt;&#x2F;strong&gt; tries to make those choices feel inevitable rather than impressive.&lt;&#x2F;p&gt;
